Need support or reference for KGDB porting for my board

Hi,

I am using Wandboard dual. Unfortunately the vendor provided forum is not active currently. So I have to port KGDB for my board.
It would be helpful if anyone show me the way how to port kgdb on my own for my board.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, ayasprings,

I shouldn't have to look things up to answer your question. I did take a look at the wandaboard. It takes a good photograph, but their 'top of the range' models are short on specs.

That aside, how about you INFORM US of what you have got, what you want, (e.g. if it's KGDB what is the second pc) and what your end goal is. You didn't even tell us what the Wandaboard OS is.

I would advise not debugging a dud kernel, but start with a known good one from one of the arm distros.

Hi business_kid,

I am using the kernel from yocto source provided by Wandboard. It is based on kernel version 3.10.17.

I understand that second pc you mentioned is Host/Development PC. If I am correct, then it is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit OS installed in Dell Laptop having Intel® Core™ i3-6100U CPU @ 2.30GHz × 4 processor.

And the Yocto project reference is : Poky Next (Yocto Project Reference Distro) 1.4+snapshot-20130809 wandboard-dual.

Sorry for the lack of details in my previous post. Please let me know if any other details needed.

My goal was to use and practice kgdb with kernel version and Yocto source I mentioned above.

Thanks in advance.

So your host is x86_64 and your board is Arm? Post a direct url for the Yocto source, that model ofwanda board. People will need that minimum to offer advice. Are you using BSD?

What you want to do is port some software. No, every other way is easier.

Try to get the best option on a downloadable OS. If you don't find one, one wanda board isn't worth the effort.
