Missing parport in /proc/ioports

I've made a application in C to control the lpt-port.
It runs perfectly on my desktop, but when I try to run it on my laptop it doesn't work as expected.

I've found out that I miss parport0 in /proc/ioports though there is a LPT port on the computer.
I am running Damn Small Linux 3.3 (Linux kernel 2.4.26) on a Thinkpad 600

Nevermind, figured it out.
The problem was that the parport wasn't included in the kernel, so I just loaded the parport and parport_pc modules by doing:

insmod parport
insmod parport_pc io=0x3bc irq=7
