make bootable CD from hard disk image and mount root file system as ramfs

I've ubuntu installed on my hard disk. I've removed most of applications so that it's total size od root file system is is about 500 MB. Now I want to make a bootable CD from this hard disk image and want to boot another system from his CD. Root file system on other machine being booting, should be mounted as ramfs so that user can save any temporary data but nothing should be written on cD rom (as it is read only).

If any one has any idea plz suggest.
