Help installing a distro on TBS Matrix 2 TBS2980 ARM Mini-PC
 

After reading a few reviews, that's all there is, and looking at the box, I decided to purchase a TBS Matrix 2 TBS2980 ARM Mini PC because it sounded very promising. However, the preinstalled Android is very lacking, and none of the Google Apps work. So, now I'm on a mission to get a real GNU/Linux distribution on this device and actually use it for what its made to do.

However, when I google, I usually find the same few pages, and a couple videos that aren't any real help. So, I'm reaching out to different forum communities to see if anyone has any information or guidance I would need to get Linux on this thing.

It does have a MicroSD card slot on the side of it, so I believe I can get some form of ARM Linux on there.

I've seen that link before. I wanted to try the ArchLinux ARM distro, so I tried the A20 OlinuXino Lime 2, however, the TBS2980 didn't boot up afterwards. So I contacted the manufacturer and asked them for help. It seems that the TBS company is based out of China, so we've had to work with some barriers. However, the support representative sent me an image for the AllWInner 80 core that has Ubuntu on it, unknown revision. So, I'm going to give that a whirl.

If this works, could I potentially use it make ArchLinuxARM work? Again, I'm not sure what I need to do to get a distro working without waiting for someone to make it for me.

Kinda funny you post this, as I'm going through the same thing with an HP Slatebook that uses a Nvidia Tegra4 chipset.
