fbtft_device

I am trying to learn HOW to use fbtft_device "driver / module" .
I am having an issue using simple code to verify it.
In an essence - I expect the new fb1 "diver" show up in ls -l /dev/fb* but I have to run the application TWICE before it does.
Is that normal?
I am enclosing part on my log I use to keep track of things.
It is NOT "cut and paste" code.
