Does Xfce support touch screen in embedded board and how to add required packages to it?

Hi,

Does Xfce desktop environment support touchscreen? If yes is there any general guidelines to configure and/or add packages to xfce to support embedded board's touchscreen and then only I have to port it by making rootfs image.

If Xfce does not support touchscreen please let me know any other Gui environment other than Qt, that is light weight than Qt that supports touchscreen
.
Also if there is any guidelines to add packages to support ethernet connection utilities and a light weight browser to that please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

It definitely can work, but I am only familiar with my own example of one. I have these Fujitsu kiosk scanners at work that are, in fact, x86 based atom boards embedded within a Fujitsu scanner's body (it even has internal USB cords to connect it up). When I installed Debian with XFCE4, the touch screen worked out-of-box (worked with both Debian 7 and later Debian 8 out-of-box). The calibration was bad, but I fiddled with xinput to calibrate it properly.

Basically, support didn't come from XFCE4, it came from xorg itself. X handled auto detection of the touchscreen out-of-box, even if the default calibration was off. I just happened to be using XFCE4, but it would work with any desktop environment or window manager.

Yeah. What He said ^^^^^^^^. Depending on touchscreen make and model and linux driver.
Your skill set as YMMV.

My Atom touchscreen net-books work with AntiX/Debian with Icewm.
My Dell XT2 touchscreen works with Linux-Lite/Ubuntu , including the wacom pen, using XFCE.
