It depends on what you have tried. What OS, what apps and obviously it depends on the network too, the attached devices and the power supply.
In general RPi is not meant to be used as a general purpose desktop computer, it is not "good" enough to do that.
Much better to run a service on it (like smart home centre, multimedia, ...) without GUI (headless mode).

And please avoid that unreadable color.

Since the launch of the RPi4, they have acknowledged that people are using them as desktop computers, & the RPi5 is shed loads better than the RPi4, very capable for normal desktop usage. I started using RPi as desktop computers when they installed 1GB ram to the RPi3, it was slow. but worked.

The RPi with 4GB ram (or more) is perfectly capable of being used as a normal desktop computer. ;)
