Question Custom Ov5640 driver on BananaPi M1

I've been trying to find a better driver for the Ov5640 camera for a few months now and although I found a few alternatives I've been having problems on how to use them, what I mean is if I want to put "my own" .c driver should I compile and try to insmod it or compile a new kernel altogether ?

Assuming you have configured the driver to be build as kernel module... yes. If you have configured it as "yes", that means the driver will be build into the kernel. In that case you need to rebuild the kernel too.

But how about giving it a shot first instead of asking??? What results do you get?
