Boot linux on new board (ARM9)

If I have a hardware and look-aside buffer memory addresses for an embedded ARM9 board where should I start to port/bring-up linux?

A tutorial or example project would be great.

thanks

I'd start with one of the linux ports.

Debian have an arm port. Some other main distro has one. Android is linux (Sort of - don't throw things at me).

I wouldn't recommend Android unless you chose it. but things like the alternative versions (with root) like Cyanogenmod (which is getting top heavy) and the others are real options.

I'm not sure what implications the 'look-aside buffer memory' indicates. That term is unfamiliar to me.
Your question is a bit general, and could mean one or more of several things. Do you have a method to install software on the target board? Is there already any kind of bootloader, or do you have to find and install that, too? With ARM CPUs, there is a bewildering combination of issues to consider: EABI vs. OABI kernel and applications, big-endian vs little-endian, standard C library implementation, and the actual ARM variant.
You are probably going to want to use some kind of cross development toolchain on a conventional Linux host. The current standard for this would be something generated with the cosstool-NG package. The mailing list for crosstool-NG is quite active, and there is much to be learned by lurking and asking questions there.
