Yast2 online update
Lo all, my first post on these forums.
I've been reading them for a while now and I searched for an answer to my problem but found none. Here it is : Whenever I try to do an online update, Yast2 hangs on the "Getting serverlist from www.suse.de" screen. I can't close the window anymore and have to xkill it. Does anyone know what could be the problem, could it be that YOU refuses to connect because of proxy problems and is there any screen where I can add my isp's proxy addresses? Thanks in advance. |
Look for the wget config file in /etc. I think it is /etc/wget.conf. In that file you will find a #proxy=.... Uncomment that line and put your own proxy instead. You have to be root.

I am also sitting behind a proxy, and this did NOT work... any ideas?
|
No it didn't, I tried uncommenting the lines, and after that leaving them as they were (since everything else is commented)

ISP with proxy ? that sucks....
unless its a university with a 100MBPS connection :) well you can always do a simple ftp get the files and install those that you want... It worked 4 me fine :) :D |
