Yast Online Update doesn't know what version I have

Hi all,

I just installed SuSE 9.1 via FTP install.
This was more like an experiment as up to now I've bought the Pro box and I still have 9.0 on my "production" machines.

Anyway things went fine until the font setup then the installation hung for a long time. I know it was too long because I've installed SuSE lots of times.

So I killed the installation and started the newly installed system using the "start installed system" of the boot CD.

The system booted ok and yast started automatically and "completed the installation" though I had to install grub manually using yast.

Now the system seems to be working fine except that when I run Yast Online Update (YOU) the initial dialog doesn't show any version information and doesn't offer any download servers.

If I enter correct server data manually it doesn't offer me any updates.

I've installed Red Carpet and can do updates with that.

I've also installed fou4s (http://fou4s.gaugusch.at/) and that works too and picks up the correct updates.

Any idea what wrong with YOU? Is this standard with FTP installs or could have to do with the problem during initial installation?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Con
