xonfig problems
 

I have a problem when I try to configure my kernel.
I am running debian(testing/unstable) on kernel 2.4.28-bf2.4
I downloaded linux-2.5.70.tar.gz, and extracted it to /usr/src
then I made a symlink for /usr/src/linux
and went into the source tree...
I tried run xconfig and got
# make xconfig
...

what is wrong... I checked ../Documentation/Changes and I have most of them..
( I dont have pppd isdn4k-utils oprofile nfs-utils, and apt-get couldn't get them.. but ver_linux showed a bunch of different programs not in Changes...)
