xmms and red hat 7.3

hi.

i went to http://distrowatch.com, and downloaded red hat 7.3 from the purdue university site, sucessfull download and burn and install. one thing missing is no xmms player in kde. is this usual, i thought xmms player was a stanard download?

also, i notice things different from the other version of red hat i had from the red hat site. the purdue university red hat site had differnect screen savers, and things differnent when you log out. do the school add things to the stanard version of red hat 7.3

To see if it is installed try at a console prompt:

whereis xmms

If you are not able to locate xmms within your system, you can download the package at http://www.xmms.org.

If you would like to try out the KDE player "noatun". I think it is under the Multimedia menu item.

I discovered that I actually like the noatun player because it places the control on the task bar next to the time clock under KDE. Real easy to get to if I need to pause it or something without switching to another desktop. I had to learn how to use the playlist though. But it has been very stable and excellent. You can even choose a WinAmp skin if you prefer.
