X server problems!!!!!!!

I have Red Hat 9 and sometimes, at start up, the system bring me this message: "GPM: OOPS() INVOKED FROM GPM.C (978)"; and X don't start!!!!!

My video adapter is a GeForce4 mx440 with original nVidia drivers installed!

I've read the X server log, and the system is unable to find any mouse!
I've a Logitech ps2 mouse

Look into your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file, search for something similar to:
Code:
Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Configured Mouse"
        Driver "mouse"
        Option "CorePointer"
        Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
        Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
        Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2"
        Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
It's for non-Logitech mouse (trackball PS/2), but yours should be similar. When you find it, post it here.
