I have a CD of Knoppix 3.2 (July 26, 2003). It works fine on any computer I have tried except for mine. All the hardware appears to be detected OK, but X will not run. It starts up, and I hear the sound file playing telling me the startup sequence is initiating, but them my monitor turns black and flashes its "Off mode in 5 seconds" box repeatedly, which I assume means X is not configured right. I even tried booting to the command line and using the XF86Config file from my Slackware install, and it still doesn't work. My graphics card is nVidia GeForce FX 5200 with 64 MB of memory. Any ideas what's wrong?

I checked the Knoppix site forum and found others stating they had problems with your video card.

I figured it out, you add the option "xmodule=nv" to the boot prompt
