Which version am I running?

I used so many different cds to get this thing loaded. Now, I don't know which version I finally got to work. how can I find out version version I'm running?

You can find out a variety of ways.

ls /etc/*-release, or if that doesn't work ls /etc/*-version

You'll find a file there that says something like:
/etc/fedora-release

If you look at that file, it'll tell you which version of the distribution you are running.

For example:
$ cat /etc/fedora-release
Fedora Core release 6 (Zod)
