No benchmarks, do not think there is something special When the difference between the systems up and running, But The Boot hours .. where there are large difference .. Arch is using grub 20sec grub to login, Debian is using 12 sec from grub to login and Slackware is using 45 sec from lilo two login. (use the compact option in lilo.conf)
hi, ive been using slackware and debian for about a month now. im a bit of a noob and still learning, point is because of this i am still configuring slackware for prime use. once i installed debian, it was pretty much ready to use out of the box. so if that'd influence u then their's something to think of. i personally will use slack for my main os but until i've configured everything debians my secondary os. and for rpg maker xp, and a very last resort, i've windows 7.
