which distro would u recommend?...

hey guys.. iam new to the linux scene and iam trying my best to learn linux myself and i can say iam getting pretty good..

but i have some issues.. i started off with redhat 9 and to be honest... i havent had soo many problems installing a simple program in my life.. all these dependency errors.. and when i try to fix them.. it seems the ones iam trying to install even have there own dependency errors... it really was frustrates me..and whats funny is i installed all the development packages

now.. i have a question.. i have 4 distros with me... SuSE 9.1... Fredora Core 2...Slackware 10 and the evil redhat 9 lol

and i want to know which distro would be the easiest to work with in terms of installing software and just overall useage.. i wana move to linux because its more secure and it looks fun.. i just want something to start me off my learning curve... any suggestions? thanks guys

or if u have another distro in mind.. plz feel free to recommend .. i dont want to give up on linux yet lol

Oddly enough, this is one of those questions which is asked about 4 times a day. Rather than rehash - again - all the arguments, take a wander through the main Linux-Distributions forum, you'll find loads of info.

I'm running SuSE 9.0 and Fedora Core 2. Between the two, SuSE is far more 'point and click' friendly. Yast solves the dependency issues and SuSE recognizes everything that I've thrown at it. That said, I'm having a heck of a lot more fun with FC2. It's imperfect and raw-edged, but I love working in command line and solving the glitches.
