I'm a Windows Xp user for long time but thinking of migrating to linux, i've tried Fedora6&7 but not satisfied. i want a full functional linux for exterme 3D gaming and multimedia. pls suggest me which distro will be the best. but i do want to continue my xp as dual boot.
My system hardware details are
Intel Pentium-4 2.8GHZ HT processor on Intel D915GAV MB.
1.25 GB Transcend 400MHZ DDR Ram
160 GB Seagate barracuda 7200 rpm sata hdd for windows
40 GB samsung 7200 rpm sata hdd reserved for linux
nvidia GEforce 7600GT 256 mb GDDR3 pci-e graphics card
Lg DVD rw drive
Lg cd rw drive
samsung 15" crt monitor
you can download of copy of PCLinuxOS2007 from http://www.distrowatch.com or kubuntu. Also you can install either PCLinuxOS2007 or Kubuntu as a virtual machine on top of windows XP by download VirtualBox from sourceforge.net
