What mini-distro for development platform?

I like to find a mini-distro that I can run under a VM as a development platform. What I am looking for is a distro with a decent set of tools as a package. I looked at Damn Small Linux, but found that the 2.4 kernel doesn't work too well in a VM and doesn't really have decent development. I am currently looking into Zenwalk.

What do other people use as a development platform?

Paul

Few.

LFS, Gentoo, Slackware and Debian. Although many distro's can be installed as heavy or minimal as you would like.
