What is the best distro for someone without an internet connection?

Yep. I don't have Internet. ( I am posting this at my friend's house, on windoze.
I am fairly competent, and have gotten my computer configured.(With Slack!)

Anyway, I would be able to burn a CD of updates at my friend's house, but I don't want something that automatically downloads packages. I was kinda looking at Sorcerer, but I think it needs an Internet connection.

NO MANDRAKE!!

I would like it to be, if possible:
1.Source Based
2.Slack Based
3.Red Hat based
4.Not based on anything (besides GNU/Linux!)
5.Debian Based (don't ask)

I'd just go with Slackware. It's stable so you don't need upgrades often, doesn't bother with net based dependency handling, and with the checkinstall utility it is quite simple to create self-compiled packages from source.

ya,

and without a net connection, no need to worry about security patches. i'd go slack. stable, so shouldn't need much to keep it up.
