What's a good linux distribution for audio (one that won't endanger my hearing)

The latest SuSE can no longer handle sound in gnome without huge sound spikes, installed the latest Fedora and got the same problem, and now what im using doesn't have sound spikes but the PCM volume sometimes changes to dangerous levels on its own (such as after rebooting etc)... What's a distro that won't make me deaf from using it?

Tried turning the volume down?

I second the motion put forth by the honorable right gentleman.

And also what Brianl said too...

Nah all joking aside slackware is stable with good audio. I use kde under fluxbox and it never deafens me.
