Volume control in Peppermint?

I am running peppermint 3 on my work laptop. I prefer fluxbox to the default WM, but I cannot seem to find the name of the program that controls system volume. I am installing kmix, but its rather heavy, and ths is supposed to be a "light" build. What is the name of the program that controls the master volume (top didn't help much), or what is a lightweight "mixer" I could use? Thanks in advance.

Peppermint mixer

Try entering 'alsamixer' from command prompt.
