VidaLinux!!!

So yeah, I installed VidaLinux the other day, simply because I wanted to try it. I was a slack user, but I now seriously think that vidalinux will take it's place for me. Slackware is an amazing distro...but vidalinux just seems to have that extra "something" that slackware was lacking...for me anyway. If you don't know, VidaLinux is a gentoo based distro...but the install is very user friendly (pretty graphical interface, lol.)..and doesn't take so long. I'm not exactly familiar with everything about gentoo...but it does a stage3 install. After installation, I must say, it's very fast! I also love portage, and how I can simply type emerge whatever for software. It's also comes with a graphical front end for portage called "porthole"...it's also very cool. I can install anything without trouble..and it's been almost flawless! It's so nice to not have trouble compiling programs. They just work. It does take extra time, but it's worth it. So I was wondering...to the gentoo users out there, is VidaLinux as good as the actual gentoo? I was going to install pure gentoo...but I don't know if I have the patience for the extremely long install time. I'm happy with VidaLinux, I'm just wondering if there's anything that it lacks from the actual gentoo.

I would love to try it, unfortunately all partitions on my home pc are fully occupied. :(

Yeah, I just ordered another harddrive. I have too many partitions, and too much files :p. Vidalinux is definitely worth trying though, it's very nice.

I just recently installed VidaLinux and really loving it also. I think it has a place if they keep it up and modern.

Here is a review. From what they say, still a lot to be desired.

I must say that this is infact a nice way to have a stage3 gentoo install in no time at all, with no fuss. I installed 2 days ago, and im fully impressed. I was an avid debian user before, and always wanted to try gentoo. And now I am running it strong, just without all the non necesary pain of doing it the traditional gentoo way.
