usr directory on suse 8.2


hi

open up the /usr directory with file manager, i have a directory on the desktop, and i am trying to cut and paste this into the usr directory. when i try , i get permission denied. believe i have to logged in as root. how do i do this?

Open a terminal, and type - kdesu konqueror - you will be asked for the root password, and then a konqueror window opens running as root.

thanks , it did allow me to type in my root password. i still having the problem, cannot cut and paste a file off desktop into the usr account opened with file manager. any other suggestions. i get the access denied box when i try to cut and paste.
