using the gdm instead of kdm in mandrake 9.1
i have mandrake 9.1, and i've reinstalled it a few times on my computer, due to issues witih windows xp being reinstalled and then not being able to acess linux. and this time i installed it i only installed gnome, not kde, and i was able to enjoy the gdm, which i prefer over the kdm/mdkdm. i just installed kde however, since i find it to be a nice gui. however every time i have kde installed, my computer uses the kdm/mdkdm instead of gdm. is there any way to change this? i'd also prefer if you can refer me to a program or something that could do this, as i am a newbie, and have no idea how to modifiy shell scripts or anything, which i do belive i have to do. nor would i know which one to modify at any rate

Use the Mandrake Control Center -> Hardware -> Display Manager to change from mdkdm/kdm to gdm or xdm. :)

yes, there is an easy and simple way to do it.
run the Mandrake control centre choose the "hardware" tab click on "display manager chooser" icon you can now choose your desired dm from a list. MN |
