USB SLAX issue

I've been using SLAX as an emergency method of booting up a dead PC for many (2) years now... and something rather odd happened recently..

This USB slax has been used about a hundred times on many different PCs, and this just happened on my most recent PC, the KDE menu's are all gone.

When i try to open a desktop icon, i get either a permissions error, link error, or what do i want to view it with question.. any ideas on why it gave out? Last thing I can think of doing is re-installing slax onto it, but wanted to check if there was any options that may of screwed up or anything..

never pulled the usb stick out while live, and it is 2 years old..

thanks if anyone knows

You might try 'alway fresh' boot option. This perhaps is due to corrupted slax-save. CMIIW.
