Ok guysYesterday I set up a pc with suse 9.1 everything went well untill I got a call today from customer couldnt log in under their account well firstly I had it set to autologon so I talked them thru creating a new account and when they rebooted wouldnt log on I went to the site and the same thing happened with me , if I hadnt seen this problem before I would figure user error but It happened to me twice before both with suse 9.0 I need an answer when I callled suse for tech support they pretty much blew me off with someone must have changed the settings i could log in thru failsafe but this is a linux newbie i want them to change to us for good not tell me tomorrow to reinstall xp. HELP!!!!
Calm down. Check the 2 most obvious causes -- is Caps Lock on, or is the user just entering the wrong password (or typing so fast that he/she is making typos). Creating a new user is no big deal, so assuming that you did that correctly, either the logon name or the password is not being spelled correctly. -- J.W.
Ok I run networks for a living this is a problem , I checked other posts and found other people had the same problem , I created the accounts , I used the correct name and passwords in the right case is it possable that installing yahoo messenger did this ?
is that remotely possable? the computer is checked for auto logon yet its not doing this why?
