Upgrading Emacs on Mandrake 6.0

The Emacs rpm currently installed (Emacs20.3-12*, approx)
isn't working (it crashes when I try to start it) so I
want to change to a newer version. This is on Mandrake 6.0,
which isn't the newest but I don't want to re-install
everything right now.

I've been looking for Mandrake Emacs rpms but can't find
them (I've found RedHat).

Would the newer ones be OK on Mandrake 6.0?
Would it be possible to use the RedHat ones?

Cool Use the source luke

You could always 'grab the bull by the horns' and download the source... being a nice established package it's probably just the usual ./configure && make && make install to install it. IIRC its a big ass source tree so quite a bit to download.

Just a thought
