Upgradeing from RH7.3 to RH9.0 or Fedora1.0 or Entreprize Linux

Hi ,

I want to upgrade my RH7.3 box to an more recent version like RH9.0 or Fedora1.0 (or Entreprize Linux).
My concerns are the following :

1- Can I upgrade from RH7.3 to for example RH9.0 without reformatting my Hard disc?
2-If the above is confirmative,do I need to re-install all other applications I had installed on the current RH7.3 box?

3-Is there an easy way to backup from a Linux box? I have a CDRW but don't know how to burn a CD in Linux?

1) I would strongly reccomend doing so. Upgrades, regardless of operating system are more prone to problems. This is one reason why a seperate data partition is useful.
2) It depends how and where you installed them.
3) Take a look at Xcdroast. You could also do a network backup or you may not need to if you have a seperate data partition.
