Hi everyone! I am a very very new newbie to linux and distros, so please be patient and kind! A friend just installed ubunto on my machine. I can log in, but I cannot figure out how to bring up the GUI from the prompt! ( I know....snicker, snicker, but I am NEW to this!) can anyone help?

Ask the one who installed it; since it's a desktop distro it should start with a login manager and a desktop, he messed up I suppose.
