I started out using TurboLinux... pretty good but that was a older verison of it. I don't know about it now but its a hassle to get X going at first..

Turbo is aimed at or as a Server distro... so if you plan on using Linux and setting up a server, it might do you good to try it out.

Originally it is based off of Redhat.

RE: TurboLinux

I use TurboLinux 6.0 server, I haven't administrated any other versions of Linux, but I believe TurboLinux is pretty solid. I have to agree with TrickyKid, I had problems setting up XWindows.
I am currently trying to upgrade Xwindows on a new box I just built, because it uses a GeForce2 video card, and the TL 6.0 has an older version of Xwindows on it, and only the new release of Xwindows supports the card.

Tried it

6.0 was my first linux.......crap it was frustrating, almost gave up on linux. Then I got a cable connection and tried Corel. Then came RH, Mandrake, Beehive, Peanut, Redmond (YUKK). Once I get to be fairly knowledgeable I may figure how to get Beehive up and working (not a lot of tolerance for newbies over there). Until then I am still working and looking for the distro that makes me dizzy with speed.
