Hello there! listen up dear linux friends hehehe

i found my favorite De after try lots of em....i always been kde lover but plasma is too bloated by now! Found out that trinity desktop is my favorite after try it today!

Is freaking fast, faster than lxde, lxqt, mate, xfce...gnome, kde...faster than them all!

I would LOVE to see more support for this De, the best thing should be asking for the biggest distros like arch, fedora, ubuntu, solus, suse, slackware, manjaro and etc etc...to please include it in their installers! it is years foward LXQT, i bet i can find lots of people that love it too!

Can we help these devs and make trinity bigger ? =DD

trinity is good indeed, fast, feature-rich, windows-like.
i think it is a continuation of KDE3.

Yes its freaking good! i would love to see it grow up with the biggest distros!

I installed Trinity to my Ubuntu VM today and then remembered that it was forked from KDE v. 3 when KDE v. 4 was released. My, did it take me back to my early days on Slackware v. 10!

It is quite a nice piece of work; I'm glad they've made a go of it.

I cannot be so effusive as OP, but it is a nice piece of work and worthy of being included in various distros' repos and in the SlackBuilds.

Yeah thats my point, these stuff is great stuff! would love seeing it on more distros!

it's good as it is.
use it or don't use it.
what difference does it make how many people use it.
a steady developer team is FAR more important, and q4os seems to have that.

It changes everything!!! the integration with big distros makes it better...q4Os is buggy as hell.

I have been doing a deep dive on Trinity in my VM of Ubuntu. \

Trinity is not without its issues.

It does not work and play well with Ubuntu's native applications. Here, for an example, is a screenshot of Synaptic in Trinity. In contrast, here is a shot of Synaptic in Unity, both in the same VM of Ubuntu 16.04.

I also note that many of the KDE applications that Trinity brings in with it are quite old. Some do not seem to have been updated since the fork of KDE to Trunity. Frankly, I really doubt that that's much of an issue as regards a text editor (Kate) or terminal (Konsole), but the release dates of the versions in Trinity are from 2008. Konqueror, on the other hand, was updated conincident with the latest Trinity in 2016.

I do rather like how it works and I certainly like the feel of it--it has a minimum of pointless widgets and geegaws, but I must retract my opinion that it is worthy of being in distros' repos until those deficiencies are remedied.

i do not agree with that, and without any additional info/proof, a statement like this is just FUD.

my experience with q4os is that it's not meant to be fiddled with.
as soon as i started changing default settings beyond a certain "fool proof" barrier, things started falling apart.

it is a "windows-like" distro, catering to non-nerdy people who are barely able to use a win XP machine.

I didnt liked it, it sucks, but anyways i hope someone someday do something about this and make it better...

I found out how to make Ubuntu native applications such as Gedit and Synapit to display properly. In System Settings-->Appearance changed the GTK display from "TDE" to "Default" (which I assume means the applications' default, as opposed to the TDE default). They will display with their normal GTK window decorations.

They won't match the TDE application windows (not something I care about, but some do), but they become usable.
