I about to buy a touchscreen desktop computer, and I would like from someone with a touchscreen to suggest any good distribution for my new computer.
I would more like to install Ubuntu for many reasons, but to be honest with you I am not quiet sure if I find any driver problems especially with the touchscreen.
Finally, I would also like to ask for any good desktop manager which could be similar to Android's where you can slide applications, and windows. Some extra effects would also be acceptable.
Gnome 3 is nearly tailored for touchscreen; Fedora or RHEL7 seems an obvious choice there.
KDE has a mode designed for touch and small screens, although one you are IN the application it can get a little dicey. Gnome, from what I can tell, keeps everything pretty big and roomy, as if expecting fatfingers to be the main manoeuvre mode.
Drivers for touchscreens are in the Linux kernel. I have a Lenovo ThinkSystem desktop tablet with a touchscreen (which I don't use very often), and every distro I've put on it has recognized the touchscreen.
