The fastest reaction in auto-updates taking into consideration network security bugs?
Hello.
I'm wondering what distribution have the fastest reaction in update application packages considering network security nowadays. I mean packages that can be auto update - like apt-get (Debian), yum (Fedora) or emerge (Gentoo)... I think about system, that have no additional users than root (or one additional for the administrator). So I mean about the fastest reaction about fixing the bugs, that can be used to access to server from net. I was told that Debian has the biggest number of apps accessed by apt-get, but the reaction about security is not so quick? What do you think? What is your opinion? What distro would you chose for now? Best regards. |
I don't know much about this, but check the Debian security website at http://www.debian.org/security/. They are known for good security since it's a distribution mostly used for servers. Only the stable release is supported by the security team though.
