SuSe Install from fat

i downloaded entire 8.2 directory from ftp, it's on a fat partition on my hd, but i'm not sure which folder to point the installation program to. Do i just point to /8.2 or 8.2/suse/ or /8.2/suse/i586

Thanx a lot!

I never have a good luck installing SuSE from hard drive on the same machine :-(

However you can try uploding it from other computer and install it from FTP.

Why don't you try FTP install -> you only need basic install then install the remaining package from hard drive.

I did SuSE FTP installation for many times with great success ;-)

Ping those available suse ftp/web server, e.g.
ftp.suse.com = 217.9.113.66

enter where the directory at those server, e.g.
/pub/suse/i386/8.2/

Have fun :-)

Thing is, installing SuSe always takes me a couple of attempts, so FTP install (even the bare minimum would soon get very annoying) so i usually download everything to a fat partition and install it, it's been a while tho since i've done that so i forgot the routine. That was a dumb questions btw, my hard drive was disconnected :-)

Thanx for replying tho!
