SuSE FTP install?

i've been trying to install suse using the ftp method, as i dont have any access to a cdwriter.
i've entered numerous ftp numbers and ftp urls, but none of them accept connections when the installer gets to that point.
are there any known ftp numbers and addresses that i can use to complete the install?

many thanks for any info!!

cheers,
paul.

What addresses or URL's are you using? The one's from suse.com's domain right? You can't just put any url in there to make it download from.

Are you at least trying: ftp://ftp.suse.com/ to download from?

PS. Even if you did have a burner, Suse doesn't offer ISO's, only FTP for free downloads, etc or the Live Eval version in ISO format.

you might want to look-up the ip address of the server and use ftp://111.222.333.444/install/dir instead of ftp://ftp.suse.com/install/dir

if you ping the domain, you will get the ip from the ping.
