Ok common. . . this is really freaky. . . I can't get the CD rom drive to stay closed. It pops open every few min or so.
It is the second CD rom drive this system has. . . the first is a DVD rom drive with the SuSE 9.1 Pro DVD in it. . . and the drive that can stay shut is a CDRW. . .
If I put a CD in, it opens. . .
If I leave the drive empty, it opens. . .
It only stays closed if I mount the drive. . . or am burning a CD.
I'm basically new to linux. I installed mandrake once a long time ago to run a half life server. It worked really good except my bandwidth was to lame for any good sized games.
A couple weeks ago I installed Slackware but decided to switch because the buttons Num Lock, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock all locked up the system.
Then I try SUSE and it does this cdrom thing.
Sigh, one day everything will work right and I won't know what to do.
Thank you for your reply. I think I'll see if 9.2 is a bit less possesed.
