SuSe 9.1 pro install problem
Hey there, I am trying to install SuSe 9.1 pro but I have a little problem. The installation works smoothly up to the point where it tries to find the software packages. This part gives me an error: "error reading from media". All the other parts load up fine. I have tried two different cds too, both have the same problem.
Can anyone help me, I am compleletly new to linux
thanks in advance

Is the disc scratched?
Did you check the MD5's?
Is it "warez" ISO's or did you pay for it?
Does the same happen with any other distro install?
-Defunct.

It seems that your cds have problems. Did you do a md5sum check on them, before installing? Did you try to use these cds in another machine, to make sure they are ok?

could it be a problem with ur cd-drive? id try another if i were u. also, try using a different IDE cable to connect it to ur mobo or a different IDE controller. if not, try formatting ur hdd prior to installation next time but this is unlikely to be the problem.
