suse 9.1 logging in missing


got suse 9.1 proff., just installed it, but must of did something wrong. when i boot , i am missing the username and password section, it just boots into kde 3.2 . how do i enable the username and password part for security reasons?

I think that there is an install option in SuSE 9.1 for automatic login at boot. You may have enabled that option when you installed. If so, then the easiest way to fix the problem would be to reinstall with the automatic login feature disabled.

suse 9.1 proff has a auto-login feature that is enabled with installation. had to uncheck it to be able to use my password and username.

Question Where is the check box to disable auto-login

I am running into the same issue with SuSE 9.1. Where is it that I disable the autologin at boot. I want to be prompted for username/password.

i had to re-install the operating system. there is a dialog box during the install process that allows ya to enable or disable the password -username option

Thumbs up Found the setting in YAST

YAST - System - /etc/sysconfig - desktop - display manager - DisplayManger_autologin. Make the entry blank and you will be prompted to login.

Saves a re-install.

are you people mad! What about the KDE | Login Manager that comes with SuSE 9.1 and is a standard part of KDE.
I can't belive that you lot sugested a reinstall, this is not Windows for god sake!!!!
