got suse 9.1 proff., just installed it, but must of did something wrong. when i boot , i am missing the username and password section, it just boots into kde 3.2 . how do i enable the username and password part for security reasons?

I think that there is an install option in SuSE 9.1 for automatic login at boot. You may have enabled that option when you installed. If so, then the easiest way to fix the problem would be to reinstall with the automatic login feature disabled.
i had to re-install the operating system. there is a dialog box during the install process that allows ya to enable or disable the password -username option
are you people mad! What about the KDE | Login Manager that comes with SuSE 9.1 and is a standard part of KDE.
I can't belive that you lot sugested a reinstall, this is not Windows for god sake!!!!
