Suse 9.1 and apt-get

I followed the tuorial from suse as well as I could figure. When I try to run apt-get, I get the following error no matter what package I am trying to install.

us@linux:~> su
Password:
linux:/home/us # apt-get install superkaramba
error: cannot get exclusive lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1)
error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
E: could not open RPM database
linux:/home/us #

This is what my etc/apt/sources.list looks like

What could be going on? It happens if I am looged in as a user and su to root, or if I log in as root.

Thanks for any help.

the first long list is all you need, you can comment or delete the rest.
try a sux - or sux -c to stay in the present directory instead of a su
you might want to do a 'SuSEconfig' then try again.

next problem, superkaramba is not available on the suse mirrors, sorry.

EDIT:
second look and the mirrors, it is available, its just called 'karamba'
