Question SuSE 9.0 & KDE dragon icon at logout screen...

I'd like to replace the goofy looking dragon you get at the KDE confirm logout screen with another picture or nothing at all... anybody know where this icon is located? thx

lol I can't stand it! Don't know why, but it reminds me of the "help dog" in XP.. there has to be a way to get rid of it... I've just got to find it!

Isn't that the splashimage when you are booting and shutting down? Maybe you can comment out the splashimage line from grub or lilo. That might work.

Well... I like having the log out screen... I just wish it was like RH's... a simple logout window, no pictures.. etc.

Yeah... I've basically modded out everything else on the distro... Minus the icons, which I'll get to easy and this stupid draqon... I wish I could call support and be like get rid of the dragon dude! But I'll get "we don't support that with our 30 day support package"... like every other damn thing I tried to get support for. Too bad... SuSE's probably the best desktop distro minus the interface, which I'm steady hacking back to how I like linux... The KDE 1 interface. My opinion is it just looks more professional and clean... less flash more business.

In the control center... If you're in the root login with KDE it's the 3rd or second icon on the menu bar. It's under appearance. You can download icons to your home directory and install them with that control module.

Goodbye Konqi

The WLUG Wiki explains changing

/usr/share/apps/ksmserver/pics/shutdownkonq.png
in Mandrake.

Additionally, a Google image search for shutdownkonq.png turns up this very nice transparent png as its first result.

Cheers.

I am kind of fond of the dragon..lol...I dont have to reboot unless I want to shut down the machine for a extended period of time, so the dragon and I dont meet all that often.

For the plain Jane look, have you tried Windowmanager or blackbox?
