SuSe 8.0 with a Compaq USB Keyboard

When booting with the first CD all seems to work well untill YaST2 comes on stage... I see some kernel messages on my screen indicating that almost everything is ok... everything but my keyboard. The messages (2 to be precise) tell me that I have "No AT keyboard present" but it's plugged on the USB port in and M$ it works just fine AND in Mandrake 8.2 it's no problem either :Pengy: ?!

The support db of SuSe has some messages about something like this, though no Compaq specific items.. :study: I've tried all options provided by that db and none of them seem to work for me.

Sure, I've seen some postings on this subject. But most postings I've read advise me to get rid of this Compaq USB keyboard and buy a decent one...
Well I don't believe that's the Linux spirit and I really am to fix this problem... ehh... with a little help that is ;)
