Suse 8.0 Professional install problem
Hello.
I am trying to boot the CD #1 (have tried #2 also) of Linux 8.0 Professional in my machine and it halts on the green screen. I usually see this same screen when I boot my 8.0 standard, and it gives me the choices to start, start in "safe mode" and memory test. Then, on the left hand side, is a row of boxes that darken as the "timer" runs out on the default selection. When my machine boots the CD up, I see this screen, but there are no choices to select, and the machie locks up at that point.
It has 96 MB RAM (although for some reason it only recognizes 64), an Intel Pentium II 400 MHz CPU, and of course a CD-ROM drive, which should be all that is necessary to boot this distro.
Just to check the CD, I tried to boot it on my laptop which is a Celeron 600 MHz with 96 Megs of RAM and it boots normally, and I tried it on my desktop which is a Duron 800 MHz with 512 MB RAM and it boots fine on that one too.
Any suggestions as to why **this** machine wont boot it? Thanks for the help!
