SUSE 8.0 - Changing Installation Source

I've installed SUSE 8.0 from CD but no longer have these CD's. I'd like to change the source of the installation to an FTP mirror using YAST2.

It gives me the option of either network or samba. If I choose network I don't seem to be able to use an ftp server as the source. As far as I can tell it is only letting me use an NFS server, something I don't have access to.

Is there any way of changing the source of installation to an FTP server. The on-line update lets you use an FTP server and I have done this successfully. There just doesn't appear to be an FTP option in the "Change Installation Source" YAST2 module.

Any help or solutions would be lovely.

Ta.

Changing Installation Source

((Note - these instructions are for SuSE 9.0. This is just one solution, with open source there are obviously many. Gotta love it!))

1.) From the YAST Control center, software selections, choose "Change Source of Installation"
2.) Select, Add, then FTP

((Note2 - This is the FTP mirror I prefer in NorthEast US))

- Server Name: mirror.mcs.anl.gov
- Directory on Server: pub/suse/i386/9.0/

Use Anonymous authentication.

It should take a while to initialize, I did a network scan of it loading and it looked like it was searching the entire mirror.

http://www.suse.com/us/private/downl...t_mirrors.html has a list of mirrors. Good Luck!
