Suitable, Fast booting Linux Distro

Hi,

I'm looking for a linux distro to run on a Laptop (PIII coppermine 850Mhz, 128MB ram, trident gfx card (supported in XFree 4+))

It only needs to be able to access the net through my 3com pcmcia net card (which i know is supported by fedora), so that i can use firefox, gaim and vnc client - and gedit which i use for all my word processing!

However, the main pressing factor is that it must boot as quickly as possible I've tried peanut linux which takes it's time to load (well over a minute). I had serious issues installing vector (bizarre refusals to work), and gentoo (highly complex, and emerge issues during install). Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

Give slackware a go, compile your own kernel and go for a light window manager too.
