Solus rides again!


Solus, formerly SolusOS has risen from the ashes.

The OS was dropped because of an apparent trademark infringement with the Ordnance Survey in the UK.
Apparently the Secretary of State was keen to keen to enforce the rules with a tiny organisation, but was prepared to turn a blind eye to Google's Chrome OS and Apple's iOS.
One law for the rich and another for the poor.

The interview (below) with founder Ikey Doherty gives the background detail.

I installed Solus (64 bit only is available) on my old test machine, a Thinkpad T60. It took all of 8 minutes.

I found Solus to be extremely responsive.

I read this as Solaris rides again !!
