SLYNUX, the user friendly Linux Operating System is developed by SarathLakshman, Studying in 10th Standard and a 15 year old student. Till last year I was working under windows platform to develop different application software. Last year, my first product was launched. It was a teaching aid - Periodic Table Software. It was demanded by IT@School Project under the Department of General Education Kerala to include in the resource CD to distribute to 2500 High schools in Kerala.
About 10 months ago, I first used Redhat 9 Linux and found that it was not user friendly. Later I understood best features of Linux that make the operating system powerfull.
Linux Operating system was considered as a developer's operating system in the past days. It was because of the difficulties in using Linux that people practiced Windows OS. This forced me to think about developing a user friendly Linux called 'SLYNUX'.
SLYNUX is a user friendly GNU/Linux Operating System for beginners. It can be run completely from CD without installation. There is also options to install to hard disk. The main feature of this operating system is that, any person who is familiar with Microsoft Windows OS can handle this operating system very easily. The desktop of this operating system is arranged so as to make it friendly to the user. Also it has a wide range of application programs which are pre-installed. SLYNUX is a live Linux distribution which includes content of about 2GB made available by using transparent compression. This is a debian based GNU/Linux developed from Knoppix (Credit of most features of this Distro goes to knoppix). This can be used by beginners of Linux OS. SLYNUX makes to familiarize Linux technology. This is also a complete suite Linux OS. This provides all types of needed software.
No, because making a livecd isn't the same as making a distro. Anyone can make a livecd, the fact these people do it and claim it to be a distro is stupid.

If you have nothing positive to say then don't say anything Lowe.
Of course it's a distro, and based on Knoppix, there are a lot of distro's based on Knoppix.
The point is that the guy who made it is only 15. I doubt you have made a distro at that age.

I'm only one year older and yes i have made a live cd, it's not such a big deal. It most certainly doesn't belong on sites like distrowatch.
I took a look at some of the specifics and all I see here is a Knoppix remaster without any substantial original additions or changes made to it. So unless I missed something I really don't see this as anything but Knoppix.
Is there anything original here that I may have missed that makes this a unique distro?

Remastering Knoppix with a few mods is trivial. NO
achievement, no matter what age.
