Slackware newbie install question

Hi fellow Slackers,

I'm a newbie slacker here with a question.
OK. I have my hard drive split up into three partitions.
hda1 - bootable 32megs ext3
hda2 - linux swap 500megs ext3
hda3 - reiserfs - the rest!

Is it correct that my root partition is hda3 - so this is where the install files, when prompted by the cd install, will go?

Also, I have installed slack on a T21 ibm laptop. This laptop doesnt have a floppy - well, it does but the CD/dvd is interchangeable...so, i can't make a slack boot disk during the install (because i'm installing off the cd at the time it asks to make a boot disk)

So if I don't make a boot disk, and take out the Slack CD, it just boots and I get the error message 'no operating system'

So what are my options here? Can I do something with Lilo at the setup screen to have it boot w/out a flopppy?

edit:
*oops - mods please move to Slackware dist forum - sorryabouthtat*
Thx!

hehe sure on the second just install lilo should do it
and on the first yes root partition is the one where the system will be installed at least most of the software while swap is only for temporary files the bootable partition is for the kernel ....

Thx kasperhans,

Can you tell me how to configure lilo to boot to the hard drive rather than the bootdisk?

Thx

as a linux os give lilo your root partition (i.e. /), in your case that would be /dev/hda3 - that should do it.
