an administrators password.
20. You may need to run the command service iptables stop on your Linux machine to turn
the firewall off and allow a web browser connection.
You are now ready to login by using your browser. Type the IP address of your Linux machine
E.G http://192.168.0.100:10000.
When Im on step number 9. I get the following error (please see picture) http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6794/error1g.jpg
can someone PLEASE tell me how can I fix this problem, and also what that number is? (ip address, router addresss etc)
thanks so much in advance for all the help.
ARTHUR
I gather you are following these instructions, without any real understanding of any of the steps? If so, that may not be what you want to do. Samba, in particular, is not going to be of much use to you unless you are able to configure it -- just getting it installed won't be enough.
Webmin has nothing to do with the question / image, so you may want to set it aside for the moment and focus on samba.
You are asking a question that really and truly only you or your friend can answer. Why are YOU (in step #9) trying to make a Samba connection to the machine at 192.168.0.251? If you don't know, ask your friend. If he doesn't know . . . well then you're stuck.
On MY network, there is no machine at that ip, so I would not try to make that connection. Doing so would just be nonsense (on my network).
If you are blindly following directions, your step #9 may NOT be a correct step for you. But, none of that is info we can provide. Only you can access info about your local network.

PS: You, or someone else local to you, could certainly configure a router or gateway at 192.168.0.251, but that would be an unusual ip to use for that purpose. And, if it were a gateway or router, unless you are trying to access NAS that's connected to a router, there's be no reason to make a NetBios connection to a router.
